Netherlands
Amsterdam
Canals, bicycles, and a city that walks itself.
Three days in Amsterdam balancing the obvious — Jordaan walks, Vondelpark, the Rijksmuseum — with the underrated: a cycle to Amsterdam Noord, a sunset boat through the canals. Light on tourist spots, heavy on the city's everyday rhythm.
Day 1 — Arrive and walk
Afternoon
Walk the Jordaan canals
CultureDrop bags, head into the Jordaan from Westerkerk. Four bridges, two coffees, a stop at Café Papeneiland for apple tart.
Evening
Dinner at De Reiger
FoodA neighbourhood brown café on Nieuwe Leliestraat. Lamb stew, beer on tap, locals at the bar. Reservation recommended.
Day 2 — Park, museum, water
Morning
Run in Vondelpark
MovementA flat 5–7 km loop on the soft cinder paths. Coffee at Blauwe Theehuis after.
Afternoon
Rijksmuseum, slowly
CultureSkip the Anne Frank queue. Two hours in the Rijks is enough — Vermeer, Rembrandt, and the model ships.
Evening
Sunset boat through the canals
RestHire a small electric boat (Boaty or Mokumboat) for two hours. Bring wine. Drift, don't motor.
Day 3 — Noord and depart
Morning
Cycle to Amsterdam Noord
MovementFree ferry behind Centraal Station. Rent at Black Bikes near the docks. Loop through NDSM, photograph the street art.
Afternoon
Lunch at Pllek and AMS
FoodRepurposed shipping containers on the IJ waterfront. Mediterranean plates, beer, the sun on your face. Train to Schiphol after.
