5-Minute Breath Reset
5 minutes
BeginnerQuick breathing exercise for mid-day stress relief.
When stress builds between meetings or during a long travel day, your breath is the fastest tool you have to reset your nervous system. This 5-minute practice uses a simple box breathing pattern to activate your parasympathetic response and restore calm. Find a quiet spot — a bathroom stall, a parked car, or simply close your eyes at your desk. Inhale for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts, exhale for 4 counts, hold for 4 counts. Repeat for 5 rounds. With consistent practice, you will notice that you can drop your stress response in under two minutes. The remaining time is spent in a brief body awareness scan, checking in with areas of tension and consciously releasing them.
