Stress Release Meditation

20 minutes
Intermediate

Deep release technique for high-pressure days.

Some days are harder than others. When the pressure has been building — a difficult negotiation, a delayed flight, a demanding week — you need more than a quick reset. This 20-minute practice is designed for deep stress release. The session opens with 5 minutes of extended exhale breathing (inhale for 4, exhale for 8), which directly stimulates the vagus nerve and shifts your nervous system out of fight-or-flight. This is followed by 10 minutes of progressive muscle relaxation, where you systematically tense and release each major muscle group. The final 5 minutes are spent in stillness, resting in the spaciousness that emerges after the body has fully let go. Many practitioners report that this practice provides the equivalent reset of a 90-minute nap. Use it at the end of a hard day or during a long layover.
